Link Popularity – How to Generate High Value Links by Writing Tutorials

As an Internet marketer more than likely you are pretty adept at writing. You may not think you are, but all of those blog posts you are creating can easily be combined into a tutorial. By submitting your tutorials to online directories is a great way to generate high-value links coming to your website and raise your link popularity.

This is a new and exciting growth area for developing traffic to your website because not a lot of people are doing, but it is very easy to put into action. All you need to do is combine 20 or 30 blog posts or articles you’ve written which concentrate on the same subject, place them in a logical order, and create a pdf e-book. That e-book is now a tutorial. You may not think it is all you have to do is call it that. As long as your content is written in a how-to fashion it is a tutorial.

Because the directories that people submit tutorials to are very dynamic in that the site is always being updated with new submissions, they usually have a very high page rank score. The more links you have from those type of sites coming to yours will in turn raise your link popularity on search engines and push you hire on search result pages.

Link popularity is one of the criteria most of the major search engines use to place a page ranking on a site. This is based on the value of the content your site contains, how often the site is updated, whether it is keyword rich content, and the amount of high-value links coming into your site.

This is an easy method to put into practice because you’re already creating the information that you can submit. All it takes is compiling it into a tutorial. When people read your information and believe it to be valuable to them, they will in turn click on your website link which you will have what in the content which will land them onto your website. Then it is your job to have valuable information on your site, which can be used to convert them into a subscriber on your e-mail list and later into a paying customer.

If you are out to attract prospective customers and develop your online presence and exposure, you owe it to yourself and the financial future of your business to learn everything you can about obtaining links to your site and inbound marketing.

Adobe Illustrator CS3 Basics Tutorial

This tutorial will go over the basic aspects of Adobe Illustrator. Within the immediate viewing area of the user a list of buttons and features are available to use on your Adobe Illustrator document. I will be going over the basic uses of these features and how you can implement them.

The first Adobe Illustrator tutorial is the Selection Tool. The Selection Tool is used to select projects on the screen that you may be working on. Usually, a large amount of these can start to form when you are managing a project. You can move the files around to be easily viewed. However, there are limitations to this tool. Adobe has come up with two other Selection Tools that will solve these space issues.

The second Adobe Illustrator tutorials are bundled. They are related to the Selection Tool in terms of operation. They are the Direct Selection Tool and the Group Selection Tool. The Direct Selection Tool is used to reshape an object or image by using its anchor points. It can change the width and height of a segment of an object or change the way it shaped by moving anchor points in a certain direction. The Group Selection Tool allows you to select one object on the first click and if you select again it will target all of the objects that are within its field. This tool helps to organized all the objects so you can select them easily.

Next up is the Adobe Illustrator Magic Wand Tool. The Magic Wand Tool lets you select objects that are similar in stature. You can do this by just selecting one of the targets and the Magic Wand Tool will attach to the others that are similar. You can make the tool look for anything that you can think of within each object to connect the two.

The Lasso Tool is the next feature within Adobe Illustrator’s long list of incredible features. The Lasso Tool allows you to select objects by drawing around them. You don’t have to complete the connection all the way around the objects. Adobe Illustrator will make an educated guess of what you were thinking if you did not finish. Sometimes this is a better way than using the other tools to select objects.

The features listed next are within the Pen Tool family. Most of them are Point Tools that help you manipulate objects. The Pen Tool is probably the most important tool that Adobe Illustrator CS3 has to offer. Anchor Points are used to define the way an object is and can be shaped. You can make very artistic shapes with this single tool. Many professional swear by it. The Add Anchor Point Tool allows you to add anchor points to an existing object. This feature will change the shape of the object indefinitely. It gives you more choices in the way you will your object to look. The Delete Anchor Point Tool deletes any anchor points on an object. This will also drastically change the way the object looks when displayed. The Convert Anchor Point Tool helps you shape objects very cleanly and precisely, so that you can get the most accurate shapes and transformations when you use anchor points.

The Type Tool has a wide assortment of features. The Type Tool makes different types and formats to put them in. You are able to edit these however you like. The Area Type Tool allows you to open up paths that were once areas you could type in to edit it yourself. The Type on a Path Tool allows you to manipulate the path in which the text will take. You can often use it to type around an object. I am sure you have seen typing that is in a spiral shape. The Vertical Type Tool makes it possible for you to type vertically. It is just like what you saw when you watched the matrix. Except those weren’t real language characters. The Vertical Area Type Tool changes paths that were closed to vertical type. You are also given the freedom to edit the type as well. The Vertical Type on a Path Tool makes the path that you chose for the text write in a vertical fashion rather than making the text lay on the line as normal.

The next set of tools provides the user with the ability to make lines in all types of fashions. The Line Segment Tool lets you draw a simple straight line. The Arc Tool is pretty self-explanatory within itself. The Spiral Tool allows you to draw spiral shapes near perfectly and manipulate by using its preset anchor points. It can be a handy tool if you have a reason to make a spiral. The Rectangular Grid Tool allows you to make what looks like a spreadsheet. Like the Rectangular Grid Tool the Polar Grid Tool gives you the ability to make a grid; however, this grid is circular in shape. It is fully configurable using the anchor points.

The next tools are one of my favorites in of the Adobe CS3 Series. These tools are the shape tools. They allow me to make shapes easily and without much attention to detail. I have saved many hours of headache by resorting to these tools. The first one is the Rectangle Tool, which makes a box shape or a rectangle shape. You can manipulate the width and height of the box to your liking. The Rounded Rectangle Tool allows you to make the edges of the box like structure rounded for a more smooth feeling. If you look at my website you can see that I used them a lot. I believe it adds a bit of flavor to the website. Of course, I am always trying new things. When you check again you may find that my website looks totally different. The Ellipse Tool allows you to make seemingly perfect circles. If you have ever tried to freehand draw a perfect circle you know the headaches that I have gotten trying to do it myself. The Polygon Tool lets you make a six-sided object that is configurable for the user. The Star Tool does exactly what it says. It makes stars! The Flare Tool makes objects that look like they have blown up or if you saw a supernova in the sky. So you will see a circle with a lot of lines poking out of it and it will be bright in the center. It is a pretty cool effect to use in many situations.

The Paintbrush Tool is a very old tool in the Adobe and Macromedia line of products. In reality, it is probably one of the first features in the first paint program ever made. It is very simple to use and only does what it says. It paints like a brush in different sizes and tones.

The Pencil Tool like the Paintbrush Tool only does what it says it does. It writes like a pencil in different sizes and tones. The Smooth Tool allows you to straighten out kinks in your drawings by erasing extra anchor points that may be messing up the path that an object would regularly make. If you use the Path Eraser Tool you can erase part of an object by erasing part of its path. If you just erased an anchor point with the Delete Anchor Point tool the object would just reshape into another form; however, with the Path Eraser Tool the object will act like that section doesn’t exist anymore and it will seem as if somebody erased it with an actual eraser!

The Rotate Tool is a simple feature that allows you to rotate any object on the Adobe Illustrator field. Many another Adobe design products have this feature as well. I believe even Macromedia products had it as well. The Reflect Tool allows you to copy the reflection of an object and move it however you like.

The Scaling Tool makes an object increase or decrease in size along the x and y axis. The Shear Tool allows you move an object around on its x and y axis. Like if you set a point in the center of an object and spun the object around it like it was a compact disc. The Reshape Tool allows you to move certain anchor points while keeping the overall integrity of the object.

The Warp Tool allows you to shape objects with your freehand abilities by moving pixels around independently. The Twirl Tool makes an object perform a swirling motion within itself. The Pucker Tool makes it seem that the object is getting the air poked out of it. I would say it’s like the object is imploding on itself. You can do this by simply using the cursor around the edges of the object. The Bloat Tool increases the air in an object and makes it looks like it will explode. The Scallop Tool makes the object looks like it is becoming spiky in nature. If you have seen a blowfish before its transformation from skinny fish to prickly prey is a good interpretation of this. The Crystallize Tool does the same thing as the scallop tool, except it only does it too the outside of the object. The Wrinkle Tool makes an object look like it is wrinkled. You can easily see this if you are using a grid or a line that is straight in nature to start.

The Free Transform Tool is used if you want change the shape of an object freehand. It is pretty simple and it reminds me of a couple other features I have used.

The Symbol Sprayer Tool lies under the symbolism options section of Adobe Illustrator. It has a series of options that you can pick from. The Symbol Sprayer Tool places a series of objects on the screen. The Symbol Shifter Tool is able to move symbol objects around. The Symbol Scruncher Tool moves objects closer to each other or further apart as a group. The Symbol Sizer Tool is able to change the size of the symbol objects. The Symbol Spinner Tool is able to move the symbol object around in a circular fashion. The Symbol Stainer Tool is able to change the color of each individual symbol object. The Symbol Screener Tool gives the symbol object the additional effect of a change in opacity that you are able to control. The Symbol Styler Tool is able to change the style that the object is shown in.

The next sets of tools are graph tools. The Column Graph Tool is just like your standard graph, which has vertical graphs. The Stack Column Graph Tool is similar to the Column Graph Tool except the fact that it can show similarities in certain things by stacking the graphs upon each other. The Bar Graph Tool makes graphs that are horizontal in direction. The Stack Bar Graph Tool is like the other stacked graph except it is horizontal in position. The Line Graph Tool uses a simple line over a period of some type of measurement to show progress. The Area Graph Tool is similar to the Line Graph Tool except fills in the area below it until it reaches the outline of another calculation. The Scatter Graph Tool is a graph that only uses the dots to show pivotal changes in the graph at regular intervals. The Pie Graph Tool is a very popular graph. It is a circular graph that shows the different options in different colors. The Radar Graph Tool makes graphs that take different graph sets and puts them categories that are displayed in a circular fashion.

The Mesh Tool makes meshes and allows you to edit them accordingly.

The Gradient Tool allows you to fully customize the start and ending spots of each gradient that you use.

The Eyedropper Tool is able to take color from one area from an image or an object and apply it somewhere else. The Measure Tool is able to see the length between two objects.

The Blend Tool makes one object into a series of objects. It also makes it look like they are transforming into something else. It is a pretty cool feature that can have some uses with my website now that I think about it.

The Live Paint Bucket Tool is similar to the regular Paint Bucket. The difference is you can fill in areas with the memory from other similar areas.

The Live Paint Selection Tool lets you paint, but it also lets you fill in live areas that are grouped together. The different options are great for painting.

The Crop Area Tool simply lets you cut out and area of an object with fine detail. The Slice Tool allows you to cut images into different sections so they can be put back together on the web. This helps with web downloads most of the time. The Slice Selection Tool allows you to select the slices that you have cut for the web.

The Eraser Tool is exactly what it says it is. It erases everything that it touches. The Scissor Tool will make cuts in an image and allow you to pull that section out. Then you are able to do whatever with the new anchor points that it makes on the object and the cut segment of the object. The Knife Tool cuts object as if you cut them with a knife. Once you do this you are able to pull the objects apart and reform them.

The Hand Tool allows you to move the window that the objects are stored in with the Adobe Illustrator CS3 program. The Page Tool allows you to change how the printed version of the output looks by manipulating the viewing screen.

The Zoom Tool allows you to zoom in on objects within the program.

I hope that you have learned the basics of the Adobe Illustrator CS3 program with this short tutorial. In the near future, I will have picture illustrations of the uses of each option so that you will further grasp what you can do with the program. Of course, this is only a few of the things that you can possibly do with the program. It takes a lot of imagination and hard work to get your thoughts on paper. If you visit my webpage you will be able to see this tutorial with appropriate pictures added. Remember that you can be an Adobe Guru if you try!

0X80040609 Error Fix Tutorial – Windows Live Essentials Error Fix

Windows Live Essentials is a set of Microsoft freeware programs that offers integrated and packaged instant messaging, e-mail, blog publishing, photo-sharing, security settings and some other entities of Windows Live. Unfortunately, there are times when you will experience problems as you attempt to install this application on your computer. The 0×80040609 error is an issue that occurs when your system is unable to load the settings required for you to install Windows Live. This error is caused by several “bugs” in your Windows which hinder you from correctly running the installation process. For you to fix this, it is important that you identify the specific cause of the problem. Afterwards, you have to do the necessary steps to resolve the error.

What Causes This Error?

The error may arise due to some of the following reasons that are typically encountered by users. It is most likely because your Windows Firewall is disabled, or the settings of your PC are corrupted or damaged. It is also possible that your computer’s Windows Installer program is not able to properly read the required settings needed to run, or you may have setbacks in your registry.

How To Fix The 0×80040609 Error

To address any of the potential causes, you have to begin by enabling your Windows Firewall. To do this, press “Start” and then go to “Control Panel” and proceed by selecting “System Security”. After that, look for “Windows Firewall Status” and once located, click “Turn Windows Firewall On or Off”. This step will give you the option to enable Windows Firewall and possibly stop 0×80040609 errors from appearing.

On the other hand, if you think that there are issues with the settings of your computer, then you have to solve this by uninstalling the existing version of Windows Live Essentials on your PC. To perform this task, press “Start” and then locate “Control Panel”. Next, go to “Uninstall A Program” and then find “Windows Live Essentials”. Once found, remove the application. This process will ensure the elimination of any corrupted settings that your Windows may have. However, if you suppose that the installation process cannot commence due to problems in the Windows Installer program, then you have to fix this by using what’s called the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility software. This program is designed to resolve any of the possible issues that Windows Installer might have. This works by removing installation information for programs that were installed using Windows Installer, thereby allowing you to start the installation process again.

Lastly, the error could of been brought about by problems in the registry. Therefore, you have to run a registry cleaning program on your computer to fix problems here. The “registry” is a large database where important files, information, settings & options are stored. Windows will access these files when it is asked to load up programs by the computer user. The problem is that the registry is quite prone to getting damaged or corrupted. Once this happens, Windows will not be able to read the required files for it to run an installation process – thus errors like 0×80040609 occur. To settle this issue, download a registry cleaner like the highly recommended “Frontline Registry Cleaner” that has been proven to be very effective in making your computer function more efficiently

Blogs and Google AdSense

I have a personal reason for putting up this article. Day after day, I watch people that hunger and aspire for a simple and reasonable way to make money on the Internet. The Internet has grown to be a very large phenomenon and its creating income daily for people all over the world. The Internet changes business as we know it, and it brings a very new insight to how we can do business.

I have watched over the months as different people try and seek a fortune on the Internet but after standing aside from the crowd, I have come up with what I believe to be the easiest way an Average Joe can make money on the Internet. The truth is that I am not teaching you anything new in this article but rather I am teaching new ways to apply old time tested principles of making money on the Internet.

This easy way of making money on the Internet is simply Blogging with Google AdSense.

The art of making profits with Blogs AdSense is now popular. But according to the Pareto principle (20/80 rule), only 20% of Bloggers take 80% of the profits. What do they do?

They recognise that there are high paying keywords and low paying keywords. Keywords are group of words that merchants pays a pre determined amount for so that someone can be sent to their site when the person clicks their advert on the pay per click engine e.g Google, Overture, Miva, etc. This advert is called AdWords by Google.

1. Google AdWords-This is a pay per click (PPC) advertising system maintained by Google. Pay Per Click is a sort of pay as you go advertising. This is the best form of advertising as the advertisers pay only if someone actually clicks on his advert. If you use Google you have probably seen the AdWords. They appear as little text Ads (on the right-hand corner) next to search result on Google.

2. Google AdSense-This is a program that allows you to reap much money by placing AdWords on your site or Blog. By doing so, anytime someone clicks on the advert on your Blog, you earn a percentage of the money that was bid on that keyword. For instance, if the keyword “acne” costs $12 and someone clicks on an a “acne” keyword related ad on your Blog, you earn a percentage of the $12. The percentage is not disclosed by Google but according to experts, they say it is 50%. That means you will earn $6 in the advert above.

3. A Blog-This is coined from web-log. A Blog serves as an online journal where you can express your thoughts, opinions, advice, news, etc. Unlike a website, it can be updated easily and frequently. This makes search engines e.g Google, Yahoo to be in love with them.

Google Ad Manager Setup For Blogs & Affiliate Networks

Actually this will be something of a tutorial on how a site using Affiliate Networks as the main source of revenue and other advertising sources to round things off can set up Google Ad Manager to insure the Affiliate ads are given the highest priority. I also have a few tips on how ads can be controlled on your site under this setup. Some of this information may be more valid for sites with less than 1000 visitors a day, when conventional ads networks are not going to generate much revenue, but it should be a good walkthrough for anyone getting ready to use Google Ad Manager.

I started using Google Ad Manager to keep track of the start and stop times for special offers and other time sensitive ads from the Affiliate Networks I use. It is a very powerful tool for that and many other options you might want to apply to your advertising campaigns, even better, it is free. However, what I found when I had Google Ad Manager setup the way it probably should be for high traffic sites is that my ‘House’ ads, the Affiliate Networks I wanted to be given the highest priority and had them set with higher CPM and vCPM values for that reason, were consistently losing the Ad Slot to AdSense ads (turned on in the Ad Slot settings). I also tried to setup AdSense ads to run as an ‘Ad Network’, but this gave similar results, so obviously ‘House’ orders are given a lower overall priority regardless of what CPM value is assigned. Here is what I came up with to deal with that, and it seems to work well.

First you will need to plan out the Ad Zones for your site, how this is done from a technical standpoint will vary depending on how your website is built, but in the end you will need to insert code into the header and where you want the ads to display, so prepare your website and plan where the ads will go – if this has not been done already.

For WordPress users a Google Ad Manager WordPress Plugin exists, but unless you simply are not comfortable editing your theme files, here is what I believe to be a better option… I use the Advertising Manager WordPress Plugin to give me some additional control of the Ad Zones from the WordPress Dashboard. This still required editing the proper theme files and some work in the sidebar to insert the plugin code, so it is an optional step really (I prefer to hand input the code into a text widget, but the Advertising Manager WordPress Plugin does provide sidebar widgets). More on this later, let’s get to setting up Google Ad Manager.

Now that you have defined Ad Zones for your site, login to Google Ad Manager and lets setup your Inventory, or Ad Slots and Placements (you can get real creative here, but in a simple setup each Ad Slot will need a Placement – the tutorials for Ad Manager cover this pretty well). If new to this it might work best to give the Ad Slots and Placements the same name, and have this also be the name of the Ad Zone on your website. Make sure when you setup the Ad Slots that you uncheck “Use network-specified defaults for AdSense settings” and “Maximize revenue of unsold and remnant inventory with AdSense” to disable AdSense settings, I will show you how to get AdSense (or any other ad source) working later. Another thing to note at this point is that once setup, you will not really interact with the Ad Slots, and your actual ads (called orders) will go into Placements. Go to Inventory >> Ad Slots >> New Ad Slot and setup your required Ad Slots.

With the Ad Slots defined, here is where we need to generate the code you must insert into your website for this whole thing to work. Go to Inventory >> Generate Sample HTML, now select (add) each Ad Slot for your site (all of them, unless you created Ad Slots for multiple sites) and click Generate Sample HTML. You will end up with 2 sections of code, one that must be inserted into the header and another that includes code for each Ad Slot. Insert this code into the appropriate spots in your website code now.

For WordPress users the header is almost always going to be a theme file called, oddly enough, header.php, which can be edited from the dashboard under Appearance >> Editor. Editing the various theme files to insert the ad code into the different types of pages is up to you, since it will depend on your specific configuration and theme. If you are not comfortable doing that, you might be better off simply inserting the Ad Slot code into sidebar widgets or using the Google Ad Manager WordPress Plugin, as discussed above. If you selected my option of using the Advertising Manager WordPress Plugin and have already inserted the required code into your theme files, then you can simply create ‘ads’ with the Advertising Manager WordPress Plugin to represent each Ad Zone on your site and insert the Ad Slot code into those ‘ads’. Doing this using the Advertising Manager WordPress Plugin allows you to easily turn on or off control of the ads by Google Ad Manager and provides other ad options locally. Regardless of which way you insert the Ad Slot code you will still need to edit the header file though, or nothing is going to work (I think the Google Ad Manager WordPress Plugin handles this, but I have also heard some people have problems with this plugin altering the code of AdSense ads, causing Google to suspend ads on the related AdSense account – I do not use the Google Ad Manager WordPress Plugin myself so I cannot say if that is true or if another problem existed).

Now you must create Placements for your Ad Slots, as stated above it might be easiest to give the Placements the same name as the Ad Zone on your website because that is what they represent in this fairly simple setup. Go to Inventory >> Placements >> New Placement and setup your required Placements. Once the Placements are setup you must assign each Ad Slot to a Placement (or each Placement to an Ad Slot, whichever you prefer), you might have noticed the Ad Slot can be assigned as you setup each Placement as well. Again, you can deal with complex setups here, but in this simple setup each Ad Zone on your website is represented by an Ad Slot in Google Ad Manager, in turn, each Ad Slot is assigned to a Placement and the actual ads (orders) are assigned a Placement to determine which Ad Slot and ultimately, which Ad Zone the ads will appear in.

OK, up to this point this has been a standard setup for Google Ad Manager, but here is where we start to do things a little different. It is now time to setup your Companies, these are really going to be your Advertising Sources, such as Google AdSense or Commission Junction. Companies are setup under Admin, so go to Admin >> Companies >> New Company and setup a Company for each source of ads that you have (I guess you could also just make one Company and assign all your orders to that Company, whatever works for you). IMPORTANT! Setup each Company as an Advertiser, no matter what kind of ad source it actually is, this will make sense later, especially if you do it wrong now…

That was easy enough, now comes the next part, setting up the actual ads. Ads, actually called Orders, are setup in a 3 step process. The first of these steps is to create an Order, for simplicity this will also be given the same name as the ad source, since it will contain all the individual ads from this ad source as Line Items. Go to Orders >> New Order (do not use New Network Ad Order) and create an Order for each of your ad sources. Set the Billable Party to Advertiser and then select the Advertiser (actually this will be the Companies we setup earlier) from the drop down list (if you failed to set each Company as an Advertiser they will not show in this list). You will also probably want to set the end date to Unlimited unless you have a known date that you intend to stop using this ad source (individual ads will be entered later and can have independent start and stop times).

Now we can insert an actual ad into one of the Orders. Click the order you want to insert an ad into, and then click New Line Item. You will want to give the Line Items a name that explains what the ad is and where it displays, to make it easier to work with them later. IMPORTANT! This is the first spot where you decide what priority the ad will have. Always select House as the Delivery Priority for your Ad Network ads and Remnant as the Delivery Priority for your Affiliate Network ads, at least for now. You can get fancy with other Delivery Priority types once you are comfortable with how Google Ad Manager will serve ads when other setting are used. As a general rule, other than special ad programs, you will only use House or Remnant. Ad priority appears to be assigned in this manner when using Google Ad Manager:

House – Lowest Priority (use for Ad Networks and other “fill ads”)
Remnant – Higher Priority (most of your ads will go here – ads do not need to have an end date)
Standard and Premium – Even Higher Priority (special ad campaigns – ads must have an end date)
Exclusive – Highest Priority (seems obvious how this will work)

The next factor in ad priority is going to be the CPM value you enter… Set all ads to CPM for now, regardless of the actual ad type, you can change this later if you want. A bit of planning is required when entering the CPM value as you create Line Items… As an example, say I have 3 Affiliate ads I want to be my primary offers and give them all a CPM of 1.00, that way they have equal priority and should display in near equal amounts. Additionally, in that same Placement, I also want to have an Ad Network show if all my offers are expired (or for other reasons I will explain below), so I give that Line Item a CPM of 0.50. This might not actually prevent the Ad Network ad from ever showing, but it will show much less often than the Affiliate Networks ads with a CPM of 1.00 in the next higher Delivery Priority category. It is also important to set all the ads in any given ad slot that you want to be in ‘regular rotation’ with the same CPM value, setting any ad with a lower CPM value is going to prevent it from showing much, if at all… I will explain how to better control ad rotation by using a Per User Frequency Cap later. Got the general idea? Good. If not, go ahead and ask a question, I will answer them the best I can.

The final step in entering an ad is to insert the code for the individual Creative’s (HTML for the ad Image and Link). In most cases you are going to want to select Rich Media as the Creative Type, this will open a code box that you can paste the code from your ad source into. When you insert the code for AdSense ads in this manner you will get this warning: “Ad Manager supports AdSense per Ad Slot and pasting this AdSense snippet here will not yield desired results.”, ignore it, the ads will still work just fine. Well, that about covers the initial setup and if everything was entered correctly you should be displaying ads once the settings take affect (up to an hour), so lets move on to some tips and tricks of this type of configuration…

You can run through your ads in a specific order by enabling the Per User Frequency Cap when setting up your Line items. Let me explain… Let’s assume the average user at a site loads 3 pages, then leaves. This means I want to display my best offers in the first page views and drill down from there. If I was to set the CPM and Delivery Priority for these ‘prime’ ads higher than any other ad in my Inventory, they would be the most likely ad to display first. If I also set the Per User Frequency Cap on these ads to 1 time per hour (again assuming this visitor will load a few pages per visit), these ads would only display 1 time to this visitor during this visit and would then be out of the competition for that Ad Slot. By doing a little planning when I set up my Line Items and Per User Frequency Caps, I can display my ads in a defined order. This is a very powerful option and can be used to create complex ad rotation if done correctly. Finally, let’s say I do have 3 offers that use the Ad Slot in question, by setting the Delivery Priority, CPM and Per User Frequency Cap correctly I should be able to offer all 3 of them in the first 3 page loads, but what if this user loads 5 pages… That’s right, now that the prime ads have been displayed and no longer compete for the Ad Slot, the Ad Network ad takes over and fills the Ad Slot for any additional page loads.

You might ask why a site with low traffic would even want to run ads from an Ad Network, and that is a valid question. The first reason would be to cover Ad Slots when no other offer is using them, here is another reason you might want to back up your Affiliate Ads with other ad sources. Many Affiliates will only pay for sales made in the United States, when you setup a Line Item in Google Ad Manager you can apply Targeting, so for all my Affiliate Network ads I target only the countries that they would be valid in, the Ad Network Line Item on the other hand, is not set that way so it will automatically display in countries where the Affiliate offer is not valid since it has no competition. Sure, this might not make you rich, but a penny saved is a penny earned and it makes more sense than displaying no ad at all, or one that cannot even be used.

You may also sell ads directly from your site or have other reasons for an ad to have exclusive use of an Ad Slot, such as Cost Per Day/Week/Month campaigns. Google Ad Manager provides an option for that when setting up the Line Item for these campaigns (called Exclusive). Alternately you could simply pause the competing Line Items for the duration of the exclusive campaign. You can also get many more impressions of this ad compared to others in the same Ad Slot by setting the Delivery Priority, CPM and Per User Frequency Cap for ads in the same Ad Slot properly. As you get comfortable with Google Ad Manager you can experiment with all these settings on the fly, even for an active Order, by pausing the related Line Item.

I cannot really see Google Ad Manager being able to accurately track your earnings in any configuration, unless you are diligently entering and updating precise pricing data perhaps, but it certainly isn’t going to work well in a Affiliate Network environment. Considering that, what do you really gain by entering the proper CPC information for those campaigns, unless they all come from one source maybe. But you certainly can enter that data and still get this configuration to work by also entering a figure under Value CPM for those items, this will allow you to track earnings for that Line Item, while still giving the Line Item the desired priority related to the CPM Value.

Having Trouble? Things not doing what you expected? Keep in mind a delay exists before many new settings take affect, you may need to wait up to an hour before testing your setup, to be sure all the settings have taken. If you are still not getting the expected results, a debug tool exists that will give you information about why a certain ad was (or wasn’t) displayed in any given Ad Slot. To use that tool you would add the code?google_debug to the end of the URL you want to test, like so: http://yoursite.com/?google_debug.

There are many other options and settings in Google Ad Manager I have not even touched on here, and I am sure countless tips and tricks, so if you have some feel free to share them. I am also sure they are other ways to set up Google Ad Manager to do the things I have explained here, but on my sites this configuration works better than anything else I have tried.

Car Parts Tutorial

Made it happen ever happen to you to look under the hood of the car and wonder what’s making your vehicle move? To the untrained eye everything may seem like a conglomerate of wiring, metallic parts, fuses and fans. Should you own such a contraption known as vehicle, it’s unacceptable not to know a minimum of the major processes that occur from key use car moving. There are four major components that compose your car alongside many other accessories and components. These major components are: The engine System, the ability train, the breaking system and steering in addition to suspension.

Let’s begin with the engine. This might sound strange however the easiest way to comprehend the interior combustion engine would be to compare it having a… cannon. As the fuse when lit creates an explosion by igniting the gun powder within the cannon, thus propelling the projectile forward with incredible speed, well the same for that engine. It has a burn chamber in which the controlled explosions occur. The explosion is done through the surge of gasoline released to the gas chamber and the spark plug provides the spark that ignites the gasoline which by burning results in enormous pressure that propels the “projectile” in this case a piston forward developing a circular movement. The only real difference is that the piston returns to the initial position unlike the cannonball.

Next stop is transmission. Just what does happen when you shift through gears? Let’s discover. Within the transmission you have a set of gear sets that all the work. You will find the input shaft which is connected on the clutch disk which is turned by the motor’s power and an output shaft that determines the apparatus. On both shafts you’ve got a set of gears and hang of metal sticks called selectors. They determine the shift that you’re placing the vehicle to via a shifter linkage. Once the output shaft has its own gear selected, it connects towards the input shaft through the gears and “dictates” the transmission just how much capacity to deliver.

So you have the way to move and also the capacity to make the car move. Now you ask, how you stop it. Here’s where the braking mechanism is available in. Then when you press the brake pedal, the car transfers the quantity of force inflicted by your foot towards the brakes via a fluid called obviously: brake liquid. As your foot doesn’t have nearly enough power to inflict the required force it would take to stop a 1.5 – 2 ton car, that power needs to be amplified. That you can do by 50 percent ways: mechanically which involves the principles of leverage in which a force applied upon a leaver activates another and the other therefore amplifying the force considerably. Another method is hydraulically which involves the principle of fluid atomicity, knowing that it cannot be compressed, it inflicts great amplifying power.

The steering may seem simple but is really a complex system of axles that are activated by the recirculating ball system. The ball system actions as a gear would and determine the axels movement once the controls is moved.

All of the power in the world is completely useless if you cannot control the car. This is where suspensions are available in. Simply put, the suspension is a piston filled with fluid along with a powerful spring. Its role is to absorb the shocks developed by the road’s irregularities and maximize the contact between your tires and also the road.
